Is your child interested in improving their basketball game? The Bethel College Women’s Basketball team will be joining us at the Newton YMCA to host a FREE fall basketball clinic. This clinic will help youth grow in their skills through fundamentals, ball handling, shooting, and defensive tactics through interactive drills with the players. Your child will learn, play, and grow in the sport of basketball!
When: Monday, September, 25th from 6:00-7:15pm.
Where: Newton YMCA
Ages: Prek-8th grade girls and boys are welcome
Cost: FREE for the community (members and non members)

Twice a week, Newton YMCA will offer free, drop-in program for 8-12 year olds. Each day has new, fun, interactive activities that are different with each visit and led by our dynamic staff. They are a mix of fitness activities, games, friendly challenges, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) activities, and challenges on the Interactive Expresso Bikes. Parents can still get in a workout if your child falls in the age range of too-old-for-Kids Zone, but not-quite-old-enough-for-Group Exercise.

Join the Newton YMCA staff for youth programming fall activities for ages 8-12 on Monday-Thursday evenings starting the week of September 5th. It will be jam– packed with games designed to improve strength, endurance, and flexibility while developing life-long fitness skills with our fun fit programming. We will also be hosting our Y-Club that provides new and fun interactive games that are different with each visit led by our dynamic staff.

Contest for grades 6-8, students type an essay in 300-400 words on the 2017 theme "America's Gift to My Generation." Awards available on local, District, State and National levels. Student deadline October 31, 2017.

Contest for students in grades 9-12. Students record on a CD or flash drive their essay on the 2017 theme "American History: Our Hope for the Future." Essay is to be no shorter than 3 minutes and no longer than 5 minutes. They will also include a typed out version. Deadline October 31,2017.

Students in grades 9-12 may enter the art contest. Art must be on Paper or canvas. No digital art or photography is not accepted. Canvas entries must be on stretcher frames or canvas board; other entries must be matted on white. Do not frame. Art should be no larger than 18"x24" not including matt and no smaller than 8"x10." March 31, 2018 deadline.
