HopeFest 2018: Harvey County Resource Festival will be July 28, 10AM -Noon with free lunch for 200 at noon. Free health screenings, book table and a Kids Zone will join the over 30 agencies sharing resources to anyone attending! All at the Newton Recreation Commission, 415 Poplar, Newton.

Even though school is closed for the summer, First Bank, Mitchell Theatres Chisholm Trail 8, Newton Recreation Commission and The Newton Kansan recognize the importance of students’ continued reading during the summer break. The Summer Reading Club is designed to motivate kids to read and gives them the opportunity to earn movie tickets, swimming pool passes and other prizes! Download the Summer Reading Club form. Saturday, June 9 at 7pm at Faith Mennonite Church, 2100 N. Anderson Ave. Come early for a free taco salad meal starting at 6:30pm. The Wichita Parisi Speed School will be presenting an introductory clinic showing kids of all ages how to maximize their athletic performance. Popcorn, lemonade and ice cream will be served!

AGE: Students going into 6th-8th grades this coming year will learn Public Forum Debate, while students going into 9th-12th grades will take the Policy Debate track. Both tracks will use the same topic.

All kids K-5th are invited to join us for Vacation Bible School this summer! There will be experiments, games, music, and tons of fun as we learn about God's invitation for us to be peacemakers.

Looking for a summer activity for your children? Want them to have fun, be safe and learn about God? Parents of children fully potty trained through those completing 5th grade, mark your calendars for Sunday, July 8th through Thursday, July 12th so that your children can join us! Shipwrecked VBS at Salem UMC (115 Old Main) will include sciency-gizmos, crafts, games, music, food and more as they learn what the Bible has to say and do with our lives. A meal will be served at 5:30 and VBS is from 6-8 pm.
