The Business Services office is located at McKinley Administrative Center, and is always a very busy place as we work to take care of all the things that happen on the business side of the district! Our folks manage budget preparation and fiscal oversight, ordering of materials/supplies, billing, accounts payable, approval/management of food service student accounts, payroll, benefits, work comp, KPERS, and many other things! District Budget Information 2017-18

USD 373 Administration presented a proposed budget for 2017-18 to the Newton Board of Education on August 7, 2017  The proposed budget was then approved by the board on August 21, 2017. Below is a summary of the budget profile along with a copy of the budget presentation.

Additionally, the Kansas Legislature has required that districts post Form 150 from the budget document. Prior to the 2017-18 school year, Form 151 - in correspondence with the block grant (Senate Bill 7) - was used to determine the general fund for school districts.  With the implementation of Senate Bill 19 during the 2017 legislative session, school finance returned to a formula based funding mechanism. Thus, the replacement for Form 151 - Form 150 - was used to indicate the calculations and distributions for school districts. Form 150, along with a document noting the cash balances on hand at the beginning of the 2017-18 school year, are included below.

Financial Statements/Audits

State law requires that school districts have an external audit of their finances, financial practices, and compliance with state and federal laws. In the table below are the audited financial statements for the past several years. An audit cannot be conducted until the close of the district's fiscal year on June 30, and is typically completed by the end of the December of that calendar year.
