USD 373 Friends of Education Recognized

The Board of Education recently recognized Marci Brenneman and John Esau/Walton State Bank as USD 373 Friends of Education. The Friends of Education Program recognizes volunteer efforts throughout our district each year. 

brenneman and nagelMarci Brenneman, a retired teacher, has volunteered at Northridge Elementary three to four days a week for the last five years and was nominated by the school’s principal Megan Nagel and First Grade teacher Leeza Enfield. Nagel and Enfield noted that Brenneman made great connections with the students and also supported new teachers, volunteering in first-year teachers’ classrooms and making a connection with Enfield, whom she has “mentored, guided and loved... .”

“She truly wants what’s best for both our students and staff. She is giving of both her time and resources to make Northridge a better place. She is a fierce advocate for public education and does everything she can to support it,” said Nagel and Enfield when nominating Brenneman. 

esau and bremermanEsau is president of the Walton State Bank and was nominated as a business partner by Kate Bremerman, principal at Walton Rural Life Center. 

“Walton State Bank and John are always willing to support Walton Rural Life Center in whatever way necessary,” said Bremerman, noting that he has donated time and resources to the school for the last several years. 

“John is an active member of our site council and is always looking for ways to tie in our school to our community. He played an active role in last year’s Walton 150 celebration,” said Bremerman and added that “Walton State Bank/John donated the entire meal to help feed the community. He also helps with the yearly mountain oyster feed and other fundraising events throughout the year.”
